tbh, I’m not even sure if form cycling is actually a universal Gem thing during reforming. Neither Lapis nor Peridot cycle through forms when they regenerate, and I suppose you could make the argument that neither of them have forms to cycle through.
the trouble with more Gems joining the Crystal Gems is that it makes it so there’s no easy way to just refer to Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl as a group. Like, generally, even though Steven is a Crystal Gem we would always say like Steven and the Gems
